This is how it started - I wanted a pet. I grew up with dogs around, and I love them even though I'm allergic to their dander. The same goes for cats. And I've never been a fan of smaller animals - hamsters, mice, guinea pigs. I didn't even consider a bird-too noisy and no fur to pet.
